How can a healthy ocean help us fight climate change?Your Attractive Heading
The Convex Seascape Survey project is dedicated to filling knowledge gaps on how the ocean and climate are connected, to inform effective action against the climate crisis. Our cross-sector partnership, bringing together Blue Marine Foundation, the University of Exeter and Convex Group Limited, embodies the much-needed spirit of cooperation required to tackle this complex challenge. The coastal seas of the world’s continental shelves are the ocean’s biggest carbon store and a major driver of carbon sequestration. With careful management, this seascape could provide an estimated 6 percent of the carbon drawdown needed to slow the rise in global temperature to 1.5 degrees. Our survey results will inform decisions on ocean use and raise the profile of the ocean as a nature-based solution to climate change.
